The Denver Post reported that, Colorado has become the “first state in U.S. history to issue special licenses for recreational marijuana businesses”.
The state Marijuana Enforcement Division mailed out licenses to 136 marijuana stores. Many (but not all) of those stores, if they also receive approval from their local governments, will begin selling legal cannabis on January 1st. The Marijuana Enforcement Division also issued 31 marijuana-infused products licenses and 178 marijuana-cultivation facility licenses.
